European Directive 2002/95/EC (Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances Directive), published by the European Parliament and Council, became effective on July 1, 2006. The Directive restricts use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. From July 1, 2006, products placed on the EU market shall not contain more than the specified respective limits of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs).
OPTEX CO., LTD. fully recognizes the importance of environmentally friendly products, and our products comply with the 2002/95/EC (RoHS) Directive. In 2007, we will also begin to place our RoHS compliant products on non-EU markets, as our goal is to design environmentally friendly products regardless of the legal requirements.
